Knitters' Day Out is a day and a half of classes, shopping, and camaraderie devoted to knitting and fiber arts, and has been held annually since 1986. This wonderful event takes place in Summerdale at Central Penn College September 24-25. At this time, classes are filled, but it is worth a visit simply to take part in the market of fiber vendors from PA and other neighboring states. This year's guest teachers include:
Gwen Bortner Karen Frisa Annie Modesitt Barbara Walker Kathy Zimmerman

Saturday, June 12th we will be celebrating, along with several other countries, World Wide Knit in Public Day. Despite the name of the event, crocheters and any other needle/fiber artists are welcomed to join us at the shop as we celebrate our craft. Knit in Public Day is really about showing the general public that knitting can be a community activity. Come to the shop between 10:00-3:00 to celebrate this event with us. We can promise food, drinks, and good company... we'll keep our fingers crossed for nice weather too!
April 28th is Stitch's 1st birthday and we feel it is necessary to celebrate with a sale! We'll see how many of you read our posts. :). So, mention Stitch's name at the register between Wednesday, April 28th and Wednesday, May 5th and receive 10% off your purchase.
From 12:00- 5:00 PM Saturday, April 24th, come and embrace your artistic side, enjoy jazz music, or simply treat yourself to a fine glass of wine. This is our second time offering this event and hopefully it will be another success! Let's hope the weather cooperates! We, at the Yarn Garden, will also be featuring hand spinning demonstrations by our very own Vicki Wingert. Elaine Haag will be displaying some of her hand made bags as well as providing demonstrations of felting and wet felting.
We hope that you will join us on Thursday, April 15th from 6PM-8PM for our After Taxes Spa Party. Our friends from Face Forward will be here to give hand massages and chair massages as well as showing their tanning products so you won't burn while you're knitting at the pool. All summer yarns will be 20% off that evening. Anything with cotton, silk, bamboo, or linen is considered a "summer yarn". There will be plenty of sweet treats and drinks.

The Yarn Garden opened for business October 14, 2006. The shop is located in the heart of the historic district of Carlisle, Pennsylvania at 52 West Pomfret Street. The Yarn Garden features a veritable “garden” of colors and specialty yarns. During warmer months you may even find our customers knitting in the tranquil garden of our back patio.
The Yarn Garden carries many beautiful and unusual yarns with interesting textures and exquisite colors. Cozy, calming, and inviting are words customers use to describe the shop. The array of beautiful yarns inspires the experienced knitter’s creativity and entices the non-knitter to want to learn how to knit.
